Blackboard Collaborate is a real-time video conferencing tool that lets you add files, share applications, and use a virtual whiteboard to interact. Collaborate with the Ultra experience opens right in your browser, so you don't have to install any software to join a session.

## How to add Blackboard Collaborate to your Course Navigation

1. Enter a specific course to add Blackboard Collaborate.
2. Once inside the course, click on the blue “+” button at the top of the navigation menu and select **Tool Link**.
3. Assign a name to the new Tool Link, choose “Blackboard Collaborate Ultra” as the Type, and check off the box to make it **available to all users**.  Click Submit
  
4. It will appear in your Navigation Course Menu, and you may move it anywhere within the menu.

## Meet with your students online

Depending on your institution, you can join a session directly from a web link, from your course and from your phone.

- **From a weblink**: Your administrator has sent you a link to join an individual session or to log into the [Collaborate Scheduler](https://help.blackboard.com/Collaborate/Ultra/Moderator/Get_Started/Navigation#scheduler). Open the link in your browser and either join the session or sign in to the Scheduler.
- **From your course**: Open Collaborate from inside your course. It opens in your learning management system.
- **From your phone**: If offered by your institution, you can use the telephony feature to communicate with other users.
- **From the Blackboard Instructor app**: You can launch sessions from Blackboard Instructor when links are provided in your courses.
